indies - (1999 - 2010)

During their first five years, visual kei band AURORA was known for their unique look. In this period, most visual bands dressed up in flamboyant costumes with lots of vinyl and leather with colorful hairstyles.

AURORA adopted a different sort of look and stood out starkly as they wore white/greenish make-up and clothes that looked like a bunch of rags. The result of this unusual look was that the band members looked like otherworldly creatures that stepped out of a fairytale.

Their music fit with their appearance perfectly. A number of their songs, which were rock although not very heavy, had a very breathy, mysterious atmosphere to them. The bass was very present in their songs, though the most outstanding feature was vocalist Kaila’s velvety voice with its incredible range.

Five years after their disbandment, they revived with a new line-up in 2009. However, it also seems that this generation of AURORA has ceased activities.
