Art Cube officially commenced their band activities on December 12, 2007 when they performed at Rockmaykan. However, after that December, the next time they performed live wasn't until May of the following year. The band started off with four members, Z as the vocalist, Y on guitar, N on bass and M on keyboards. It wasn’t until February of 2008 when S went from their support drummer to their official drummer.
Art Cube started out 2008 with performing at various live houses across Japan from May till July, leading up to their first release on July 23, 2008. Their first release, Suna no Hana, quickly sold out which prompted the band to release a second press the next month. Their first song released was on the compilation album SUMMIT 04 which had come out on January 30th, the first of many compilation albums the band would be featured on. The next few months following these releases, Art Cube performed at various places alongside other bands until their first one man on December 12th. Following this live a few weeks later was the release of their next single, Shitsuraku chou.
In March of 2009, the American tour organizer WOW ROCK had stated they would be bringing Art Cube to North America, however there has been no further announcements on this subject as of yet. They had their second one-man on June 11th, just in time for their release of ruri ame/nijika kagami. It was announced after the release of this single that Art Cube would be going on their first overseas tour in Europe. So far, only two dates in France have been announced as part of their European tour. As an exclusive European tour release, Art Cube will be releasing Luxurious Cube, a best of album.

Even though they are comprised of experienced members from various older visual kei bands, Art Cube enters the gothic visual kei scene with unexplained origins and meaning. They say their concept, ‘’From the Darkness Illuminates the Tribal Gothic World”, gives explanation on their view of the world. This can also describe their music, as Art Cube illuminates their rougher, darker musical tones with graceful melodies, mainly using Z’s strong voice and M’s talented use of piano.
