Since DOUBLE‘s debut in 1997, TAKAKO has established herself as one of the pioneers of the Japanese R&B scene. This solo project originally began life as a partnership between the two sisters TAKAKO and SACHIKO, but tragically, the latter’s sudden death in 1999 brought into question the fate of the group. Striving to carry on her sister’s love for music, as well as her own, TAKAKO has continued to produce material with a distinctly classic R&B vibe.
