DELUHI’s first live of 2010 was their fourth one-man and their first one-man live in O-EAST, the biggest venue they've played yet. On Saturday January 9, SHIBUYA O-EAST saw all kinds of fans waiting for the show prior to its start and not all were female. A notable number of guys were to be seen, who looked like band kids. Before the live began, a comical announcement by the members was made and Sujk gave a lesson about how to call the members in death voice.
The hall darkened and as the solemn SE Overture-Yggdalive- began to flow, a big unified applause rose up in the venue. The joyful shouts increased when the curtain rose gradually and all the members appeared with their instruments and settled in their positions. Pictures of "Yggdalive" were projected onto the screen behind them and the show was kicked off by G.A.L.D. Fans rode on the fence and head-banged violently. The audience raised their fists in time to Juri’s scream of “G.A.L.D.”
Suddenly sparks exploded from the stage. Juri ran out toward the edge of the and they rushed into REVOLVER BLAST, whose pace was set by Sujk's fast drums. Leda and Aggy moved around in front and stirred the audience up, roaring “REVOLVER BLAST” several times in the intermezzo. The next song, s[K]ape;goat, was played with increased power and the fans head-banged heavily, jumping up and down with the speedy main melody. Leda performed a high speed guitar solo on the stand and Aggy played the heavy bass phrases with his head shaking.
“Welcome to DELUHI's one-man show”, Juri then said to the audience. A clean arpeggio by Leda flowed over the crowd and the next song shade, began. It changed radically from a painful melody to the catchy refreshing main melody and Sujk beat out a speedy rhythm on the drums. Continuing with flow snow, Aggy and Leda went out to the front of the stage and performed the heavy intro and the fans visibly enjoyed the catchy main tune. When WAKE UP was played, Juri urged the audience to jump and they cheerfully obliged. After a little break the stage darkened and with an impressive Asian sound LORELEI was played. Leda added coloring to this tune by using the acoustic guitar, which was set next to the electric guitar.
All the members except Leda left the stage one by one and soon after, purplish-red light focused on Leda as his guitar solo started. He played classic masterpieces with elegant electric guitar solos, for example, song of pleasure composed by Beethoven, Mozart's a little night music and Queen of the Night’s Aria, among others.
Sequentially Sujk, Aggy and Juri appeared. In the lightened stage, Hello followed. An image of two hands was projected on to the screen and at the end the two shook hands. The music was shown visually by screen.
After a short MC, Juri taught the fans how to move with the next song: a new number called FTO. This tune was high speed metal from the start. Aggy and Leda played heavy phrases while Sujk and Juri stirred the audience up. The fans in the first row head banged madly while riding the fence. They continued with intense numbers Rebel:six ,Shadow: six and HYBRID TRUTH while Juri moved about the stage aggressively. Aggy and Leda gathered around the drums, making contact with Sujk. The fans raised their fists and jumped throughout.
The stage lightened up and Juri asked the crowd to sing together. Leda played an arpeggio and a beautiful melody resounded in the venue as Orion once again started. The band and audience sang together only with arpeggio, and then with the voices of Juri and the fans, the hall was filled with beautiful a cappella. Each fan joined hands with the person next to them and continued to wave.
While wrapped in moving reverberations,a sudden image of a metropolis was projected onto the screen. White smoke gradually shrouded the roof from the floor of the stage and Hoshi no nai yoru ni started. Juri sang the mid-tempo song emotionally, wiping his tears as the number progressed quietly. The members then left from the stage one by one, ending with Juri bowing deeply and exiting the stage. A big applause rose up throughout the venue.
In answering the eager encore, Leda appeared first, having changed to their T-shirt designed especially for their fourth one-man. By playing guitar phrases, Leda called the other members to the stage one after another. Juri thanked the fans for coming and announced the next live to be done again in O-EAST. The encore then started with Baby play and the fans jumped and head-banged heavily. At last popular number Two Hurt was played. As soon as the intro phrase began, all at once the fans launched into head-banging. Aggy and Leda exchanged positions and moved around on stage. Juri roared several times and Sujk played fiercely. On that energetic note, the live ended.
As calls for another encore arose, information flowed on the screen, informing the crowd of the following news: REVOLVER BLAST will be released as a single CD and DVD. In addition, on June 5th another one-man tour will start with this hall. Louder shouts of joy went up in the venue when the screen announced the tour final would be performed at Akasaka Blitz. DELUHI began the year with a demonstration of their power and variety in their music. We look forward to their next activities!
