It shouldn't come as a surprise that ABIGAIL, a Japanese black metal band founded in the early 90's, would list their influences as Western pioneers such as VENOM and BATHORY. Luckily, this line-up has an original touch to add to their music, while at the same time keeping to the familiar black metal growling vocal style. Additionally, in the lyrics and graphics of their releases you can find some interesting references to Japan.

The musicians are close to the members of another long-lived Japanese metal act, SIGH. In the year 2005 ABIGAIL released a tribute recording in honor of their friends.
