Their biography is short because it's summarized with only one single and one concert. This concert was held in the Tokyo bay NK hall on December 5, 1991. It was a tribute to Mozart because the two members of V2 both studied Mozart's music during their youth, Yoshiki on piano and Tetsuya on violin.
In January 1992, they released a single of the songs they played at the concert called Haitoku no hitomi ~Eyes of Venus~ and unfortunately it only contained two tracks: Haitoku no hitomi ~Eyes of venus~ and Virginity. In March they released a video of their concert called SPECIAL V2 LIVE 1991.12.5 VIRGINITY, which contained 8 songs including the ones from the single and a drum solo by Yoshiki.
Unfortunately their activities stopped shortly after that and both men were in the band Globe, however Yoshiki left in 2005.
V2 was the name of the duo Yoshiki and Tetsuya KOMURO that only existed for a short time. They both have a lot of experience and have been very important in the Japanese music scene, Yoshiki in the rock scene and Tetsuya KOMURO in the pop scene.
The band was formed due to the bicentenary death of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The project was held secret for a long time, but was revealed at the end of October 1991 at a press conference.
The name V2 came from the name of the first rocket that reached the moon, built in secret during WWII by the Nazis and soldiers. Perhaps not a really nice name, but they wanted to have a name that had some connection with the German nationality of Mozart.
