SPARTA LOCALS liked to point out they aren't actually from Sparta, but in fact, from Fukuoka. Starting in 1998, the band lasted until September 2009. The band produced an edgy indie rock, self-described as post-punk with new wave influences that captivated their audiences. In their 11-year span of life, they produced songs ranging from maudlin to hyperactive and were well known for their ability to give a good live concert.

Their final concert was held at Shibuya AX, showing that even though they were splitting up, they still had a large fan base.
