U, also known as Shirota Yu is no stranger to the Japanese entertainment world. Starting his career in musicals, television dramas and movies, it was not long before he branched out into music.

U made his debut as a solo artist recently. He cites some of his inspirations to be R&B as well as Japanese and Spanish pop, all of which can be heard in his music.
