Shichisanshiki
七三式
also known as: 73shiki
indies - (2004 - 2007)
Shichisanshiki is a disbanded indie visual kei band that had a pretty unique approach to both their music and appearance. They played upbeat rock music that was of a surprisingly high quality when one keeps the young age of the band in mind. Their songs usually consisted of catchy rhythms and melodies, was a bit jazz inspired and often featured fast paced guitar solos in the foreground.
They seemed to have a good sense of humor as well, which can be heard in a number of funny songs: a choir singing an ode to them, or a wedding song as the intro of a song. Sometimes, this kind of humor could be found in their looks as well and at some point the band's mascot, a little man, was seated on the vocalist's shoulder, traveling along with him.
Their name can be interpreted as "7 to 3 style": wearing one's hair parted on the side.
