Maaya Sakamoto was born in March 31, 1980 in Itabashi, Tokyo. She is a well-known Japanese seiyuu (voice-actor) and singer who made her debut in 1996 as the voice of Hitomi Kanzaki, in the hit anime series The Vision of Escaflowne.

Maaya has a very soft and delicate voice, which made her songs very outstanding comparing to the others. Anime songs usually require this sort of voice so she has definitely became one of the main singers to take the part.
