Even though Luzmelt formed at the end of 2009, the band around singer yuhma (ex-AMETHYST) had its debut in February 2010 with a one man concert named supernova explosion. They signed to Starwave Records, a label ran by former BLOOD band leader Kiwamu on which they released their first mini-album swallowed scenery on February 24th.
The second mini-album Luz-destination followed in March and in May the band released their first maxi-single, sacrifice, which came with their first PV. In April, the young quintet was already invited to perform at the American anime convention Tekkoshocon VIII.
Soon after this speedy start, the band was met with some trouble as drummer miu and bassist zig decided to leave the band at the end of May. Currently Luzmelt is supported by Haren (ex-DEPAIN) on bass and U-YA on drums.
Despite being so young, Luzmelt have been invited to perform in Europe this summer. Together with the fool they will perform at the two editions of the Jap-Ro event, which will take place in Germany and the Netherlands respectively.
Luzmelt is a brand new visual kei band that has already gained attention overseas with their performances in the United States and Europe.
The band's music is the typical visual kei mixture of rock with some hints of metal and electronic pop sounds, combined with deep, exaggerated vocals. According to their label, they "represent the darkness, and the light sought after by people who have lost their hearts."
