el-Ethnic Legist- is an indie band from Tokyo founded by el on July 15, 2009. The band consists of yuma, who is called the third messenger, on vocal; el, the first apostle, on guitar; HIGE, the fifth messenger, on bass; and sin, the seventh messenger, on drums.
Considering how young the band is, they have been very active from the beginning. Every month-and-a-half, they would organize an event called Pandora where several bands perform. This tradition continues to this day. Their first organized show, which was called Pandora Act1, was held on September 11, 2009 at Otsuka Red Zone. It was also the band's performance debut. That night, they also had their nationwide release of their first album titled INDRA. That date has an important significance for the band and there is an anecdote about the fact that the car they used to carry their material had the numbers 9-1-1 on its license plate.
A couple of months later, el-Ethnic Legist- released their first single, Asterte, on November 11th; their second single, gaNeza, was released the following month.
In 2010, the band released their mini-album titled Anubis in February. Throughout the year, they continued with their monthly Pandora performances. On August 22nd, they released their third single, pārvatī.
In September, a little over a year after their formation, el-Ethnic Legist- will have their first opportunity to perform overseas in Europe. The tour was organized by the label Ramen Events. So far, several gigs have already been scheduled in five different countries. A self-titled mini-album will be released for the occasion by HINODE RECORDS.
