Known as one of the undisputed rulers of the popular music industry during her short career, Yamaguchi asserted herself as a charismatic starlet in countless dramas. Due to the emergence of her fame in the 1970s along with Mori Masako and Sakurada Junko, the three were dubbed as the “Schoolgirl Trio.”

However, her musical career greatly aided her in establishing herself as a remembered artist.
