The Southern All Stars is a testament to the occasional un-fickle nature of the Jpop industry. They began life in 1979 and are still going strong. Fronted by the charismatic Kuwata Keisuke, Southern All Stars (either Sazaan or SAS to their fans) have often courted controversy during their long history with certain songs branded obscene but generally they embrace a wide range of music styles that covers rock, pop, and their folk roots.
