On September 16th, the pillows will celebrate their 20th anniversary with a concert at Nippon Budokan, so to mark this very special occasion, the band announced the release of a series of items. First, they will release a new live DVD, tentatively titled as TOUR BLUE SONG WITH BLUE POPPIES, featuring footage from their first acoustic live performance on February 21, 2009 at Ebisu Garden Hall, plus footage from their fan club limited performance at Shinjuku red cloth on December 1, 2008.
Then, on June 3rd, the pillows will release two compilation albums, the first one is called Once upon a time in the pillows and contains twelve tracks from their period with KING RECORDS, plus an unreleased song. The second album is Rock stock & too smoking the pillows and features fourteen tracks, including new versions of Sullivan ni naritai, Funny Bunny, ONE LIFE, Strange Chameleon, Swanky Street, and a new song called 1989. The CD+DVD version of the album includes the music video for 1989.
