MONO
モノ
indies - active (1999 - )

MONO are a four-man post-rock band from Japan, mostly active outside their home country. With their endless songs and fragile melody webs, they remind some of the genre giants like Sigur Rós, Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Mogwai. However, they still manage to add their own touch (classical elements) and have found fanbases in Japan and America as well as Europe and Korea. On a side note, no other than Steve Albini (who has already worked with the Pixies, Melt-Banana, Nirvana and Mogwai) is in charge of recording and mixing.
MONO is highly recommendable for fans of post-rock and bands like Pelican or worlds end girlfriend.
