Black:List

indies - disbanded (2007 - 2009)
Formed in 2007, Black:List contributed significantly to the visual kei scene and also toured Europe within their two year lifetime. A band of dark aesthetics, their music combines crushing power and extreme precision, and in the midst of their potent metal sound, sorrowful melodies appear. Part of a new generation of loud-kei, the extremist visual band has made a lasting impact and will live on through their music and in their fans.

biography
Formed around guitarist TOMOZO (ex-SULFURIC ACID) in January 2007, Black:List's first live followed in March. The band was off to a rough start, as bassist HISAKI and vocalist RYO departed in September, and the band paused activities. However, the guys were back on their feet soon after, joined by vocalist KYOTARO (former √eight) in January of 2008, and with him came a new sound and energy.

Keeping up a rigorous performance schedule throughout the beginning of the year, their first regular edition single MELANCHOLY was released in May, and was so well-received, a second pressing was issued. To promote the single, starting in July and ending in September Black:List went on their countrywide tour RIOT '08 1st IMPACT.

In October the band toured Europe, giving shows in Germany, Finland and France. Despite their ongoing success, early in 2009 they disbanded. Black:List gave their last live at SHIBUYA BOXX on January 8.
